Q: Why should I choose West Highland?
A: West Highland is run by Alex Scott, a CPA with a Masters of Taxation, who has 15 years of public accounting experience in corporate, individual and multi-state taxation. Aside from his credentials, Alex started West Highland to be client focused from a consultative and planning perspective. Many CPAs have too many clients and are not able to provide the proper proactive advice to their clients. Others focus solely on tax preparation, leaving clients with questions they need answered in the off-season. West Highland stresses client contact and attention to provide the highest level of service.

Alex Scott, CPA, MST, Owner
Alex has 15 years of public accounting experience including corporate and individual taxation. During his tenure he specialized in multi-state and local planning and preparation which makes him uniquely qualified to assist those with multi-jurisdictional tax issues. In addition, Alex is a serial entrepreneur starting and supporting multiple businesses in his lifetime. He started West Highland in 2025 to help those with small businesses navigate the uncertainty surrounding the tax code and business ownership. Alex is a member of the Virginia Society of CPAs and a RamseyTrusted® Tax Pro. Alex is a Washington, D.C. area native who enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.
